Invented
Every artefact, plate, accession number, field report, instrument reading and translator's note on this site. There is no archive, no reading room, and no boundary stone with a paw cartouche. The cats have not been in contact.
Genuinely true
Egypt really did venerate Bastet and Sekhmet, really did mummify enormous numbers of cats, and really did impose severe penalties for killing one. Cats really do sleep around sixteen hours a day and purr in the 20–140 Hz range. The compliance described in the mind-control dossier is, as far as the author can tell, documented nightly in most households.
